What we like, and what to watch
What we like
- Machine and materials in one cart. Sunbrella, Sattler, Outdura and Cordura fabrics sit next to foam, thread, zippers and hardware, so a cushion or bimini project can be ordered in one go.
- A long warranty on the Ultrafeed. Sailrite lists five years on the Ultrafeed machine and one year on the motor, plus ongoing support and video guides for owners.
- Free shipping on bigger orders. Orders of $199 or more ship free by FedEx Ground within the contiguous US, which helps with heavy fabric rolls and machines.
Watch out for
- Cut fabric can't be returned, and neither can 1-yard cuts. Order a sample or measure twice before buying yardage.
- You must get an RA number before shipping a return, and the item has to be back within 30 days of the original ship date, not the delivery date.
- On warranty claims you pay shipping both ways, and the item must reach Sailrite before a repair or replacement goes out.
- Warranty length varies a lot: five years on the Ultrafeed machine, two on the Fabricator, 90 days on most other Sailrite-brand items. Check the product page.
Who should buy from Sailrite
If you sew heavy materials at home and want a machine built for canvas and vinyl, Sailrite's Ultrafeed is the obvious starting point, and the shop carries everything else for the project. Buy fabric carefully, since cut yardage is final sale.
Sailrite
DIYers sewing canvas, vinyl, sailcloth or upholstery who want a machine, materials and supplies from one US store.
