What we like, and what to watch
What we like
- Broad astronomy range. Beginner Maksutovs, APO refractors, Petzval astrographs, planetary and cooled cameras, narrowband filters and accessories are sold in one place, with bundled kits.
- Written warranty periods. The warranty page lists 24 months on telescope bodies, astronomy cameras and electronic eyepieces and 12 months on eyepieces, filters and tripods.
- Entry prices for beginners. The SV105 planetary camera is $69.99 and the MK90 Maksutov starts around $189, with accessories from $12.99.
Watch out for
- Delivery claims conflict: product pages say 3-7 business days, but the shipping policy lists 7-15 days by DHL and 15-45 days for lighter parcels shipped from Hong Kong/China.
- You generally pay shipping to send a product in for warranty inspection, and warranty claims must be raised within 15 days of finding a defect.
- The 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee is advertised but its terms are not spelled out on the return policy page, and the refund may vary by return reason.
- Warranty applies only in the country of sale; the brand says it gives no support for purchases from svbony.eu or other unauthorized sellers.
