What we like, and what to watch
What we like
- Low prices for autofocus primes. Full-frame autofocus lenses start at $99 and the fast F1.2 LAB line tops out at $999.
- Wide mount coverage. Most lenses come in Sony E, Nikon Z and Fujifilm X versions, and a growing L-mount range.
- More than lenses. LED lights, adapters, flashes and monitors from the same store make it easy to build a small video kit.
Watch out for
- Only 7 days to return, and a no-reason return needs a video showing complete, unopened packaging, which rules out trying the lens.
- An inspection fee of about 1% to 10% may be deducted, and you pay return shipping.
- Discounted or promotional items can't be refunded unless they're faulty.
- The warranty is 1 year, and after the first 30 days you pay to ship the lens in for repair.
Who should buy from Viltrox
If you've already settled on a focal length and mount, Viltrox's autofocus primes cost far less than first-party lenses. Because the return terms make trying a lens risky, read reviews of the exact lens before ordering.
Viltrox
Mirrorless shooters who want fast autofocus primes for much less than first-party lenses and already know which focal length they want.
